NEW MALICIOUS EMAILS IMPERSONATING THE TAX AGENCY DETECTED
Since the 2020 Tax Campaign started 2 days ago, numerous emails have been received by thousands of users, impersonating the Tax Agency. The fact that the Tax Campaign has just started makes it easier for many of these fake emails to "slip through" and deceive users, since it seems logical to receive emails from the Tax Agency during this period.
The detected fake emails closely mimic the legitimate emails usually sent by the Tax Agency, but the links in these emails would download a ZIP file containing malware, which would infect the user’s device. In other cases, the same emails contain links that lead to a fake site simulating the Tax Agency, attempting to steal personal information. Therefore, SOFT LINE recommends never following these links or opening attachments in such emails. It is advisable to access the official Tax Agency website directly through your browser, not through any links or buttons in emails, and use your digital certificate or PIN to check any communications that may genuinely come from the Tax Agency or any other state or regional organization.
SOFT LINE reminds you that when receiving messages from supposed official organizations, companies (even familiar ones), banks, etc., you should "scrutinize" these messages carefully for any clues or details that may indicate they are fake. Never follow links in suspicious emails or open attachments; instead, contact the supposed sender directly, either by phone or via their official website.
And as always, remember to keep your antivirus up to date and maintain a backup plan that ensures copies are stored in a separate location, safe from malware, theft, or accidents.
